Weber River Fishing Report 01/23/2018

Location

Weber River

Overview

Water levels on the Weber are super low right now. For those of you who want more solitude and less busy fishing conditions the Weber is right for that now. Fishing will be challenging at best, approach the deeper runs with caution try not to spook the fish before getting your line wet. Sow bugs and some small midges are your best bet. try lightly weighted streamer early and late or during the overcast days.

Weber River Fishing Report 8-1-2017

Location

Weber River

Overview

The Weber river below Rockport is somewhat of a question mark right now. It is currently flowing at 80 cfs, which is a scary low flow if it stays that way all summer. It is fishing decent with terrestrials and streamers, but we urge you to be careful here as the trout become fragile with water levels decreasing and water temperatures increasing. If you do fish here make sure to handle them properly and fight them quickly. There hasn’t been much hatch activity on the Weber this summer. The usual evening caddis hatches have been slightly week and there haven’t been many reports of people doing well with PMD nymphs, sow bugs, or caddis larva. There are hypothesis that most of the bio-mass was swept down to Echo reservoir during the high flows this spring. If you do decide to head there please be conscious of the fisheries health. Fishing in the early mornings and late evenings can be a solution for this issue.

As these flows may change in the near future, come on into the shop or give us a call for the most updated report.

Weber River Fishing Report 6-28-2017

Location

Weber River

Overview

The Weber river below Rockport has come down to a very fishable flow.  It is currently running around 200 cfs, but that could change up a bit.  The runs have changed up considerably so dont expect your favorite piece of water to fish the way it used to.   The fishing has been decent the closer you get to Coalville-most of our guides are having success nymphing with PMD’s, caddis, sowbugs and midges.  Don’t rule out PMD dries as we have been seeing a handful of risers out there-nothing consistent yet, but if you work for it, you should be able to find a few fish on top.  There are still a few yellow sally’s and golden stones flying around as well.

Weber River Fishing Report 5-9-2017

Location

Weber River

Overview

The Weber below Rockport is running a little high and off color for this time of year.  However, caddis are on the water.  The caddis will begin to come off before noon on SUNNY days and last throughout the evening.  The best time to target rising fish is in the afternoon and into the evening.  Look for risers in soft seams along the banks as well as anywhere where there is some sort of overhanging shrub.  If fish are not rising try nymphing using a sow bug or San Juan worm attractor trailed by a caddis or midge nymph.
