Green River Fishing Report 06/05/2019

Location

Green River Below Flaming Gorge Dam

Overview

The Yampa River is projected to peak, so the Green River Flows will be reduced soon so not to flood the Jensen Utah Area. This means once the Yampa is back down, the Green will likely go back up. Dry fly fishing is practically non-existent, but try fishing a cicada pattern if you’re determined to fish up top. Nymphing is your best bet. Streamers are always a great option for higher flows. Fingers crossed we can get to a more fishy flow.

Middle Provo River Fishing Report 06/05/2019

Location

Middle Provo River

Overview

Runoff is here. The Middle Provo is at ~950 cfs so be very cautious. This flow is very high and the water is swift.

Dry fly fishing on the Middle is sparse at this flow. Nymphing has been decent. Add more weight to your rig to drop those flies down. Slower water will be your friend. Try fishing the flies from your “junk food collection” AKA Sow Bugs, San Juan Worms, Wigglies, Squirmies, Scuds, and some midges or caddis nymphs.

Small and Medium sized streamers have been working on cloudy days or when the water is slightly off color.

Weber River Fishing Report 06/05/2019

Location

Weber River

Overview

Weber River flows are ~728cfs and it is fishing pretty consistent with sow bugs, midge nymphs, caddis nymphs, and worm patterns. Fish are moving into faster water so change up where you drift. Weather affects the Weber heavily so there’s a chance it will be off color with storms. Streamers might be worth a shot.

Latest Flows

~728 CFS below Rockport Reservoir

Fishing

Overall fishing well with the possibility of a few off-color days

Current Hatches

Midges, Caddis

Best Techniques:
