Our Utah fly fishing reports offer a brief overview of current conditions on our waters. You'll find fishing reports for the main Utah rivers and streams that we guide on and fish regularly. Reports for the Lower Provo, Middle Provo, Weber River, Green River and Small Streams are included.
We write the reports based on our daily experiences on the water and information received from customers. We update the reports as conditions change and our schedule permits. If you don’t see what you are looking for, please give us a call at the shop or contact us here. We are always happy to update you with current conditions on many other Utah waters and fisheries in surrounding states as well.

Location
Green River Below Flaming Gorge Dam
Overview
The Green River is fishy. The flows are good at ~2280 cfs. It’s definitely the tail end of the cicada hatch, but they’re still looking for the big bug. Caddis and Yellow Sallies are on the lower river and fish are definitely starting to get interested. On A, the caddis are coming off in the evenings and PMDs are starting to show up in good numbers. Nymphing is “stupid good”.

Location
Middle Provo River
Overview
The Middle Provo flow is trending down. As of right now it is coming out of the dam at ~990 cfs. This flow is still a bit swift so continue to use caution when wading.
Fishing is getting better overall. Dry fly fishing might not be the most productive, but give it a try in the slower water if you are determined to fish up top. Nymphing will likely be your most productive method. The fish are hugging the bank in most spots, so consider taking a step back and fish closer to the sides.

Location
Middle Provo River
Overview
The Middle Provo went up again since our last report, but its trending back down and right now it is at ~1500 cfs so continue to be cautious when near the river. This flow is very high and the water is swift.
Dry fly fishing, if any, will only be in the slow water. The fish are holding anywhere they can catch a break from the flow, so nymph in slower water as well. Keep fishing the flies from your “junk food collection” AKA Sow Bugs, San Juan Worms, Wigglies, Squirmies, Scuds, and some midges or caddis nymphs.
Small and Medium sized streamers tend to work when the water is higher.

Location
Weber River
Overview
Weber River flows went way up since our last report, but are on the way back down currently at ~728cfs. It is tough fishing. If you nymph you will need a lot of weight. Streamers might be worth a shot. They usually produce more fish in heavier flows.

Location
Green River Below Flaming Gorge Dam
Overview
The Green River is projected to come down and the cicadas have the potential to go off. This means epic dry fly activity with cicada patterns. The flow currently is at ~9150 cfs, but the schedule (picture posted above) shows the schedule for future flows. June 24th should be the day to get out and fish dries.
