Our Utah fly fishing reports offer a brief overview of current conditions on our waters. You'll find fishing reports for the main Utah rivers and streams that we guide on and fish regularly. Reports for the Lower Provo, Middle Provo, Weber River, Green River and Small Streams are included.
We write the reports based on our daily experiences on the water and information received from customers. We update the reports as conditions change and our schedule permits. If you don’t see what you are looking for, please give us a call at the shop or contact us here. We are always happy to update you with current conditions on many other Utah waters and fisheries in surrounding states as well.
Following are the latest reports in descending order of when they were last updated. As a result, you may see multiple reports on the same destination if we haven't updated one of the other destinations recently. Location
Weber River
Overview
The Weber River is flowing at ~190 cfs out of Rockport Dam. This a lower flow, and the moss is in the river. This can make fishing difficult, and you will have to clean off your flies every couple of drifts. If you decide to give it a shot try nymphing your typical sow bugs, tiny midges, and san juans. The current hatches are midges, caddis, and baetis.

Location
Middle Provo River
Overview
Fishing on the Middle Provo can be challenging for some right now, but the most productive method will be nymphing smaller sized flies with smaller tippet (6X). The midges are consistent, and we’re starting to see baetis on overcast days or in the afternoons. The streamer bite is right around the corner so might as well start throwing some. The caddis are out too, and we are seeing both olive and grey.

Location
Area Small Streams
Overview
Be careful with water temps before you start fishing. If it feels like bath water when you step in, its too warm to fish. Upper elevation small streams are in great form right now. Its time to throw foam bugs!

Location
Weber River
Overview
The Weber is still flowing at 200 cfs. There are caddis, PMDs, and midges. The fishing is “slow” until the early afternoon PMD hatch. Try fishing PMD nymphs before, during, and after the hatch. It may be time to start throwing some hoppers as well.

Location
Middle Provo River
Overview
The Middle Provo is still holding around 399 cfs. Lower down the diversion channels are taking out water Upper midway gage is at 232cfs. Hatch fishing has died down a bit. Your seeing sporadic caddis in the mornings and evenings. PMds are also happening occasionally throughout the day. The fish are starting to eat bigger terrestrial flies, but not as often as the hatch bugs. Nymphing is still the most productive method mixing up midges, pmds and caddis. The dry fly bite is decent during the active hatch.
