Weber River Fishing Report 5/19/2021

Location

Weber River

Overview

The Weber River has finally come up and it is fishing very well. Caddis are rampant, and sow bugs are stirred up. Although there are a lot of adult caddis on the river only a few fish want to eat up top. The most productive method will be nymphing. Consider throwing a dry with a beaded caddis pupa dropper.

Location

Area Small Streams

Overview

The area small streams are still at low water levels, but we have seen some come up to a fishable level. June should be THE month to hit these streams.

Lower Provo River Fishing Report 4/21/2021

Location

Lower Provo River

Overview

The Lower Provo is flowing at ~150 cfs right now. Fish midge patterns in the mornings until the baetis hatch starts. The mayflies can start anytime between 11am to 2pm depending on temperature and weather. The fishing is really good down on the Lower. Make some time to check it out before tuber season. Stick to small tippet (6X or 7X) and throw your dries.

Middle Provo River Fishing Report 4/21/2021

Location

Middle Provo River

Overview

The Middle has been fishing well recently. In the morning the midge patterns should be the most productive. There is a chance you will see a baetis hatch midday. It is usually in small groups, but the fish are keyed in on them. Baetis like overcast days, so don’t let the inclement weather keep you from fishing the hatch. Dry flies can work, but like always nymphing will be the most productive. I predict we are going to have a light tippet summer, so get used to fishing with 6X or 7X.

Green River Fishing Report 4/21/2021

Location

Green River Below Flaming Gorge Dam

Overview

The Green is flowing around 860 cfs out of the Flaming Gorge Dam. The baetis are here. The hatch can start anywhere from 11am to 2pm depending on the day and weather. Typically the hatch is better, with more fish eating up top, on overcast days. Dry flies, emergers, and nymphs have all been productive. Streamer fishing can still be productive below Red Creek. Midge patterns should be productive until the baetis hatch.
