Middle Provo River Fishing Report 11/15/2021

Location

Middle Provo River

Overview

The middle provo has hit its winter flows of ~150cfs-130cfs. Fishing has been good on a mix of baetis and midges. From river road south up to the dam has had a decent hatch most days though timing has been variable on when it starts, most action has been from 11-3ish. The fish are still hanging out in shallow riffles as well so you dont need to only focus on the classic holes. Please avoid stepping on any redds you see.

Lower Provo River Fishing Report 11/15/2021

Location

Lower Provo River

Overview

The lower provo seems to have hit its winter flow. The fishing has been good with a mix of midges and baetis, however with the drop in flow it has been super weedy. Making targeting and landing fish a challenge. Once things cool down the weed problem should disappear. Please be on the look out for redds and avoid stepping on them.

Lower Provo River Fishing Report 10/08/2021

Location

Lower Provo River

Overview

The lower provo has been dropping the last month from 500cfs to about 160cfs. And the cooler weather has helped dwindle the tube hatch. Fishing has been about the same as the middle provo with decent baetis and midge hatches going on throughout the day. Nymphing has still been best with dry flies being good during active hatches. Streamer fishing should be picking up with the cooler weather.

Middle Provo River Fishing Report 10/08/2021

Location

Middle Provo River

Overview

The Provo has been at 150cfs since the end of September. The drop in flows has made the fishing a little bit trickier. With the colder weather we have started to see a strong baetis hatch especially on the cloudy days. Try a variety of small (22-24) midges and gray and olive baetis emergers. There has been a couple sporadic sightings of October caddis.
