Lower Provo River

Overview

Now is a fantastic time to get out on the Lower Provo.  The flow on the Lower Provo is around 280 CFS.  The baetis are hatching and fish and keyed in on them.  Nymphing until the hatch has been quite productive and once the hatch gets going the dry fly fishing can be excellent. Midges are hatching in the morning and the baetis are coming off mid day.  Dry dropper fishing with a larger cluster midge in the morning with a zebra midge dropper can produce some nice fish and then switching to a baetis dry once the hatch gets going to target the rising fish. Sow bugs in smaller sizes are also working.
