Green River Fishing Report 10/06/2020

Location

Green River Below Flaming Gorge Dam

Overview

The Green is flowing around 1440 cfs during the day, and it is being dropped at night to about 1000 cfs. The fishing is good. Nymphing will be the most productive method, but fish are rising on pseudos in the morning, and eating caddis dries and terrestrials in the afternoon/evening. Streamers are fishing too, try a black marabou bugger. As the colder weather sets in the streamer bite should become more consistent.

Green River Fishing Report 07/01/2020

Location

Green River Below Flaming Gorge Dam

Overview

The Green is back down to a ~1050 cfs flow below Flaming Gorge Dam, and will be rising by 60 cfs daily until it reaches 1320 cfs July 6th. As the water gets higher the fishing will improve. The Cicadas seem to be tapering off, but the Yellow Sally hatch is going on sunny days which is great for both nymphing and dry fly fishing. The PMDs will be out too, as well as Caddis in the evening.

Green River Fishing Report 06/01/2020

Location

Green River Below Flaming Gorge Dam

Overview

The Green is flowing very high right now, be careful boating or wading the Green. The flows should remain this way for 1 more week. Fishing the Green with heavy nymph rigs or streamers will produce some fish.  When the river drops below about 3500 CFS. the fishing should go crazy. Cicada’s are there and the fish will start to key in on the Cicada’s and other bugs on the surface at that water level. Pay close attention to the water temperature it is cold now and as the temperature   climbs the fish activity will increase also. The best fishing of the summer is going to happen our best guess is the middle of June will be excellent.
