Guide and client playing a fish on the Provo River

Location

Middle Provo River

Overview

The flows on the Middle Provo are high right now.  Be careful when wading.  Nymphing or streamer fishing will be your most productive means of catching fish.  The midge hatch continues early in the morning and late in the day.  Look for some caddis activity and some PMD activity on the sunny days.  The middle of the day into the afternoon is still the best time to hit the river in the Spring.  Due to the flows, try using a San Juan worm as your point fly and either a midge, caddis, or PMD as your other nymph.   If you get there early or stay late the streamer fishing has been good.
