Location
Area Small Streams
Overview
The time we have all been waiting for is finally on our doorstep! Our local small streams have started to shape up as the runoff has begun to subside. The freestones have really come down in flow and are running cool, clear and ready to fish. With this seasons mega runoff expect your favorite runs to have changed considerably-It’s a great time to get out and explore the rivers to find a few new “favorite runs.” Some of the smaller tail waters are still running a tad higher than normal, but are fishing well enough to make the trip out worth it. Expect to see some really nice hatches over the next few weeks. Make sure you have plenty of Green Drakes, Golden Stones, and Yellow Sally’s, but make sure you don’t rule out PMD’s and Caddis-especially later in the day. It is also not a bad idea to throw terrestrials like beetles, ants and crickets between the hatches.
