Our Utah fly fishing reports offer a brief overview of current conditions on our waters. You'll find fishing reports for the main Utah rivers and streams that we guide on and fish regularly. Reports for the Lower Provo, Middle Provo, Weber River, Green River and Small Streams are included.
We write the reports based on our daily experiences on the water and information received from customers. We update the reports as conditions change and our schedule permits. If you don’t see what you are looking for, please give us a call at the shop or contact us here. We are always happy to update you with current conditions on many other Utah waters and fisheries in surrounding states as well.
Following are the latest reports in descending order of when they were last updated. As a result, you may see multiple reports on the same destination if we haven't updated one of the other destinations recently. If you want to view previous fishing reports, you can click on the category name link under the report title or use the dropdown menu in the top navigation or follow the links in the sidebar. Location
Lower Provo River
Overview
The Lower Section of the Provo River below Deer Creek Reservoir is currently at about 150 CFS. Flows have been up and down the last few weeks but the fishing has remained relatively consistent. Nymphing sow bugs has been productive during the warmer parts of the day (10am to 4pm.) Pairing a small midge or baetis above a sowbug on your nymph rig can attract some attention as well. That canyon can get pretty windy this time of year so be prepared for some chilly temps!

Location
Middle Provo River
Overview
Flows on the Middle Provo are at 150 CFS, this is a normal winter flow for the river and it is fishing pretty well. Nymphing has been the most consistent and productive option on the river. The most ideal window to be fishing during the day is from about 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the warmest part of the day.

Location
Weber River
Overview
The Weber river between Rockport and Echo reservoirs is currently at a flow of 23 CFS. This is a low flow but normal for our winter months. Most fish will have moved down into Echo reservoir to get into some deeper and colder moving water, we advise avoiding this fishery until the flows come back up in the spring to give resident fish a chance to rest post-spawn as they are living in a low-water, low-oxygen environment at the moment.

Overview
From 9:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. the flows on the Green are staying at about 950 CFS, at 4 p.m. there is a bump in flows to about 1900 CFS and overnight that has been dropping back down to 950 CFS. Nymphing will be your most productive option on any given winter day, but there is still some dry fly and streamer fishing opportunities throughout the day.

Green River Below Flaming Gorge Dam
Overview
Flows on the Green will start out at 1000 CFS and will bump up to about 1800 CFS as the day progresses. The dry fly eat has been tricky, most fish are keyed into smaller mayflies with some willing to eat some terrestrials, but you’ll have to work for it! The nymphing has been good, with fish eating smaller flies subsurface like small scuds, midges, mayfly and caddis patterns.
